performance in defeat at Tottenham

no chance of winning the Premier League
title if they keep playing like they did at
Crystal Palace on Saturday.

City won 2-1 at Selhurst Park, thanks to a
Yaya Toure double, to ensure they
capitalised on draws by Liverpool and
Arsenal to sit a point behind Chelsea at
the top of the table.
But victory only came after Connor
Wickham had equalised and threatened to
condemn the Blues to a fourth 1-1 draw
from their last five games.
Guardiola’s side have drawn their three
most recent home games by that scoreline
despite dominating each match, and while
the Catalan was impressed with the spirit
shown to win a difficult away game in
south London, there was a sense of
frustration that his team have dropped
points while playing well but won while
playing badly.
“Football is something… I said to my
players, the frustration for coaches is to
discover the secrets of this game,” he
said. “Sometimes it’s so difficult because
you think about playing at home – against
Everton, Southampton and Middlesbrough
we played better and we are not able to
